- Login to the einvoice1.gst.gov.in portal using a web username. If it is not there, register on the portal and create a web username.
- Next, select API registration and ‘Create API user’. Here, select the GSP or ‘Direct’. If you have selected the GSP, select the GSP name. If you have selected the ‘Direct’, enter the client id and client secret. Then create the username and password for logging in to GSTIN and preserve them.
- Next, use the client id and client secret and the username and password to access the APIs and generate the IRNs for that GSTIN.
- Repeat the user creation process for all other GSTINs of the same PAN as per the above last 2 steps.
- Note that one can create a separate username and password for a separate GSP (Client) for e-invoice generation. However, corresponding username credentials and client credentials are used for API access and IRN generation.
